Rachel Zelazny

Founder

Rachel Zelazny, a Montrose, CO native, has witnessed the region’s transformation—economically, socially,  politically, and geographically. Having grown up in Montrose, she has seen businesses rise and fall, schools  rebuilt, and an influx of new residents shaping the community. Her deep-rooted connection to the area  provides her with a unique perspective on its evolving challenges and the need for innovative,  compassionate solutions.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Business Development,  equipping her with the strategic insight and adaptability needed to manage and grow a business in a small  economic market. Her professional background includes social work and case management roles with  Montrose County and behavioral health organizations, where she developed a passion for advocating for  high-acuity individuals struggling with homelessness, addiction, and incarceration.

Her work at the Delta County Jail and involvement in the pilot program Impact House—which focused on  competency restoration for individuals at risk of reoffending and chronic incarceration—solidified her  dedication to addressing systemic barriers within the criminal justice and behavioral health systems. Rachel  is passionate about meeting people “where they are" and helping at-risk individuals access the resources  and support necessary to rebuild their lives.

Rachel’s commitment to this work is deeply personal, having experienced homelessness firsthand due to a  medical emergency that negatively impacted her cognitive function; this led her to a deeper understanding of the obstacles  individuals face when seeking stability and recovery. Through her own journey of rebuilding, she explored  alternative therapeutic methods and conducted research into how neural pathways influence development  and healing. This experience has shaped her belief that brain chemistry must be treated with the same  priority as behavioral health services—both must work in tandem to create effective, lasting change.

With a vision of fostering a more inclusive and supportive approach to care, Rachel is dedicated to  transforming how society perceives and assists vulnerable populations. She strives to bridge gaps  between government agencies, service providers, and the community to create sustainable solutions  that prioritize rehabilitation, reintegration, and long-term well-being.
