Founder, Board of DirectorsRachel Zelazny is a Montrose, CO native with a deep understanding of the region’s evolving economic, social, and political landscape. With a B.S. in Business Administration focused on Business Development, Rachel brings strategic insight and adaptability to her work in social services and community advocacy. Her degree program in Marriage and Family Therapy gives her insight into the systems that play into the unhoused experience and how much a difference a true support system can make in the healing process.
Her work experience spans case management roles with Montrose County and behavioral health organizations, where she developed a strong passion for supporting individuals facing homelessness, addiction, and incarceration. Her work at the Delta County Jail and with the pilot program Impact House reinforced her commitment to addressing systemic barriers in behavioral health and criminal justice.
Having personally experienced homelessness following a medical emergency, Rachel brings empathy and firsthand insight to her advocacy. Her research into brain function and healing has shaped her belief that behavioral health and brain chemistry must be treated together for lasting change.
Rachel is dedicated to building more inclusive, compassionate systems that connect government, service providers, and the community to create long-term, sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations.

Board of Directors/Clinical Director of Behavioral HealthBrittani is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Addiction Counselor, and an ordained minister. She graduated from the University of Louisville with her BA in 2006, from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond with her MDiv in 2009, and from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with her MA in 2015. Since then Brittani has worked in mental health counseling and pastoral ministry.
Originally from Kentucky, Brittani moved to Colorado in 2021 to pursue an opportunity in wilderness therapy. She has previous experience in emergency services and aquatics. She loves coffee and cocker spaniels.

Board of DirectorsA Colorado native, Jana Powell grew up immersed in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, where camping and exploring the outdoors shaped her lifelong appreciation for nature. That love of land and nature inspired her career as the owner and designer of Mountain Landscape Design, LLC, where for more than 20 years she specialized in creating residential landscapes in Evergreen Colorado and the Front Range foothill communities.
After two decades in the landscape business, Jana chose to semi-retire and relocate to Montrose to be closer to family. Today, she is deeply engaged in community advocacy and service. As an active member of Montrose JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion), Jana works to uplift and support marginalized communities while promoting equality and belonging.
With over 12 years of sobriety, Jana brings both personal experience and compassion to her volunteer work. She contributes her time to the Montrose Jail women’s AA program and to the Shepherd’s Hand Resource Center, which serves the unhoused. Committed to expanding her impact, she is currently pursuing certification as an addiction counselor, with the goal of continuing to serve and treat underserved and marginalized populations.

Board of Directors/MSWPhillip “Doc” Caudill began his career in social work after earning his degree in sociology and psychology from West Virginia State University, where he graduated as second valedictorian of his class. Following the passing of his mentor, Doc took time away from academia to focus on understanding people at a deeper level—interviewing more than 6,000 individuals and honing his skills as an exceptional listener. He later completed his graduate degree in social work at Ohio University and embarked on a career in the mental health field, where he has continued to serve with dedication, compassion, and insight.

Board of DirectorsHannah’s entrepreneurial journey began early in her hometown of Wales, where she worked in her family’s convenience store from the age of eight. As an adult, she became a co-owner of the business with her sister before eventually selling her share and relocating to the United States in 2022. Today, Hannah helps manage an insurance agency alongside her significant other. Witnessing the struggles of unhoused individuals in her community inspired her to take action, and in 2025 she joined the Board of Directors at Living on a Prayer Co.. She is passionate about supporting the organization’s mission to create meaningful change and expand opportunities for vulnerable individuals in her community.
